Catching Up...

I was in San Diego, CA this past weekend for my family reunion. It was delightful!

Shock of all shocks: I got sunburned.

Now you are probably saying, "Wait a minute, you told us you got sunburned a little while ago." It's true. I did... slightly. But my face did not burn that time. This time, however, my face burned. My visage is HOT PINK. I kid you not. My cheeks are glowing fuschia

This may not surprise you. It is summer after all. And, indeed, I was at the beach. So I should've put on sunscreen. I didn't think about it. And you probably know that was stupid. But you must understand that I do not burn. I just don't. At my palest in the middle of winter, I'm most likely ten shades more tan than you. I'm not saying this to brag. I'm trying to make you understand the magnitude of my obtaining a sunburn. I haven't truly burned since I was about five years old (when I moved to Venezuela).

So. The moral of the story. Staying inside all day the whole summer, and then going to the beach equals a fuschia face. SPF 40, baby! It's your friend.

When you leave for a week, you must catch up on a lot of shows. Today, I caught up with Craig and So You Think You Can Dance.

I like Craig for lots of reasons: funny, clever, well-read, witty, Scottish, and so creative. I love cheesy stupidity, so when he lip-syncs with/without puppets, well, it's my favorite. This is one of my all-time favorite openings on his show.

And SYTYCD? Well, please, please, please just watch it. I watched Melissa and Ade's contemporary dance tonight, and it brought me to tears. I was sobbing through the last half of it, and bawling right along with all the judges after it ended. Tyce Diorio really outdid himself in the choreography and message. It touched me in a way that no other performance has done this season. Just BEAUTIFUL!!!

I hate getting sunburned! I avoid the sun because it is prejudiced against my skin... and it tries to kill me. Hehe. Sunblock is a good friend to have.

It made you sob? That is pretty funny, Chess and I am glad you are humble enough to admit it.

Cali is so fun! Even when you get burned. See, we are quite opposite you and I. You are naturally the tannest of tans, and I am naturally the whitest of of whites. I'm a red head. So I feel you in the fushia face. Sun screen is my best friend.
P.S.- I still haven't caught up on SYTYCD. I'm ashamed.
