Rainbow...

I am in a good mood today. Even though I woke up at 6 this morning to do homework.

So, to celebrate my cheeriness, I am wearing every possible color I could think of and own. Well... almost every color. I don't think I'm wearing red.

I am wearing yellow, turquoise, pink, black, white, orange, green, purple, blue.

I lied. There is a red flower on my shoe.

Plus, there are purple and blonde streaks in my hair.

So, if you see a little 5 foot 2 rainbow running around on campus, know that it's me.

It's a cold, gray day and I'm here to bring the sunshine.

:)

That was cheesy.

Sorry.

And my latest poem for your enjoyment:

Inner Man
This is dedicated to Mark.
You and your enlightening conversation about the "inner man" are my inspiration for this poem.
I forgive you for making fun of me all the time.
But please laugh when I show it to you today.

I saw a toolbox the other day
About the size of a fridge.
It was silver and shiny and the
Best part was the radio
That was inside.
I suddenly wanted to build things.
Not that I ever wanted to build things before.

My inner man said buy it.

I saw a barbecue grill the other day
About the size of my toolbox.
It was black and red and the
Best part was the free non-stick tongs
That came with it.
I suddenly wanted to grill meat.
Not that I ever wanted to grill meat before.

My inner man said buy it.

I saw a fishing pole the other day
About as long as my barbecue
It was slender and strong and the
Best part was the tackle box
That was included.
I suddenly wanted to catch fish.
Not that I ever wanted to catch fish before.

My inner man said buy it.

I saw a television the other day.
About as long as my fishing pole.
It was loud and hi-def and the
Best part was the free DVD player
That came with it.
I suddenly wanted to watch sports.
Not that I ever wanted to watch sports before.

My inner man said buy it.

My mother saw my toolbox the other day.
And the barbecue, and the fishing pole,
And the television.
She asked what possessed me to buy
All this junk
That I never cared for before.
And I said

My inner man made me do it.

I love your rainbow cheeriness so don't ever feel cheesy!

I also love your poem! I hope you use "Inner Man" as one of your poems in our poetry writing class!!
Somehow my poems end up sad or surreal. I'll post one so you can read it.
