Media...

I like books and movies a lot. Like, a lot, a lot.

Here are the books I have been reading:
  • To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (one of the best, if not THE best book in the world--I read it every year)
  • Family Trust by Amanda Brown (the author of Legally Blonde--chicklit for sure, but fun)
  • Julie and Julia (a memoir by Julie Powell--depicts her year of adventures trying to cook her way through Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking--the film based upon this memoir will be released later this year starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams)
Up next on the reading list:
  • Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen (not sure what it's about, but it's Austen, so I'll love it)
  • Winged Creatures by Roy Freirich (dunno really what this one's about either, but it's going to be a movie soon too)
  • Austenland by Shannon Hale (Sarah recommended this one, so we'll see once I finish the others.)
Movies that I have recently seen:
  • Up (Disney/Pixar--I absolutely adored this movie, the first ten minutes are just so sweet and poignant that they actually made me cry.)
  • Confessions of a Shopaholic (I'd already seen it, but it didn't fail to make me laugh like crazy.)
  • Star Trek (Grew up on Star Trek--Original and Next Generation--watched 'em with the fam. Loved the film. I was very impressed with Zachary Quinto as Spock. Doesn't hurt that he's attractive in real life. Also, rock on Leonard Nimoy! There is a banner with one of his quotes at the middle school where I used to/will work.)
  • Valkyrie (Great, but so depressing. It's hard to watch a movie when you know all the heroes are going to get beat.)
  • WALL-E (Borrowed this one from a friend. I loved it despite its being a little long.)
  • The Island at the Top of the World (Really old live-action Disney. I fell asleep fifteen minutes after it began and didn't wake up until it ended. I'm sure it was good.)
Yup. I like the media. The good kind.
